The Mystic Order of Veiled Prophets of the Enchanted Realm (MOVPER) is an organization affiliated with the Masonic Fraternity and is governed by the Supreme Council headquartered in Gahanna, Ohio. Each local-level organization is called a "Grotto" and members are known as "Prophets." Khana Shahar Grotto is the local MOVPER organization located in Springfield, Ohio. Khana Shahar Grotto is part of the Ohio Grotto Association (OGA) with roughly 20 other Grottos.

A Quick Snapshot of Khana Shahar Grotto
Our stated meetings are held at 7:30pm on the 4th Wednesday of each month (except January and February) at 1583 E. High St., Springfield, Ohio (this is the Red Star #205 Knights of Pythias Hall - come to the rear entrance). A dinner is served at 6:30pm before each stated meeting for a $5 donation and is open to all members, their families, and invited guests.
We hold various social events throughout the year including a Summer Steak Fry, a Master Mason Night, New Year's Day Pork & Sauerkraut Feast, Valentine's Dance, and a Monarch's Ball. We also hold an annual Hillbilly Night during which the most sublimated Hill and Holler Degree is exemplified for all interested fellers, gals, and yunguns. We endeavor to include the family in our social activities as much as possible. A multitude of social opportunities are also found in the numerous visitations we make to other Grottos in Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania.
Our charitable activities include financial support and fundraising for the Supreme Council's Humanitarian Fund, which provides dental care to children with special needs and an annual cerebral palsy research grant. Our members are strong supporters of the Humanitarian Fund's Enchanted Lantern Program in which an enchanted lantern is awarded for each donation of $50 (see the Supreme Council website for more information).
Philanthropy doesn't always take the form of money and our Grotto has an extremely active clown unit that visits local hospitals, nursing homes, developmental centers, and schools. Our clowns also entertain for various local organizations and are always willing to support other organizations' charitable events.
